The fort city will be hosting its 3rd edition of the Lakecity International Film Festival 2018 on August 10th & 11th at the Allaudin Khan Auditiorium in the sprawling world class ITM University Campus at Turari, Gwalior. Serving as Madhya Pradesh’s Premier Film Festival, the Lakecity International Film Festival (LCIFF) was founded to showcase MP as a leader in contemporary film making, and aims to exhibit the most captivating and innovative content.
The Biggest Event in the city of Forts in the Heart of Incredible India (Yes! Hindustan Ke Dil Mein), the two LCIFF 2018 festival will be screening more than 50 feature films, short films and documentaries at 4 different venues across its 2 campus. Eminent personalities from Bollywood have agreed to be on the Jury which includes the likes of Cricketer Actor Salil Ankola, Swaroopa Ghosh, TV personality Prachee Pathak, Editor Mahua Mazumdar, Iranian Actress Azar Faramarzi and documentary film maker Mansoor Showghi Yezdi whose documentary Cafe Irani Chaii have gone to win more than 20+ awards nationally and internationally.
Headed by award winning writer, director Mohan Das who heads the festival as Chairman and Director, the two day festival will see people of various communities thronging the venue to enjoy films from countries including Germany, Italy, UK, USA, Portugal, Egypt, Spain, Russia, Iran and the country’s own languages will be showcased. Breaking all stereotypes, LCIFF‘s mission is to present quality films from around the world as well as support, recognize and honor Indie Film Makers. These films will be organized thematically, in hopes of representing the full range of the human experience as reflected by our chosen filmmakers. LCIFF will also be a vital showcase for Indie Short Film Makers as the festival has a PSA Films Category revolving around a theme and have a strong social message in addition to its competitive sections.
This year, the festival has selected Iran as the Participating Country and a separate award section has been introduced for the Best Iranian Films. LCIFF has a separate section to uplift the local talents, especially the Film Makers from the state of Madhya Pradesh. Semblance, Fifty Two, Dustbin, Mamta, Pankh and other films will be showcasing talents from the state. Running parallel to the screenings, there would workshops on various topics in the field of Acting, Cinematography, Fashion in Films, Low cost Film making as well as RJing and Anchoring. National Award Winning director Sandeep Pampally will be presenting a session on the journey of a director.
