Frames Film Festival is India’s Largest Undergraduate Film Festival conducted by the BMM Department of SIES (Nerul) College of Arts, Science & Commerce. This theme release was hosted on Tuesday (11/12/2018) with a lot of enthusiasm. The 16th edition’s theme, DIRECTOR’S CUT – AN ODE TO THE MAKERS, was revealed to the audience which is a salute to various directors in the film industry and their vision to portray art in its purest form.
The event was graced by the chief guest, Freddy Daruwala, a famous Bollywood Actor and model known for films such as Commando 2, Race 3 and Holiday. There were dances by volunteers who portrayed five Bollywood eras. This was done in an effort to make the audience understand differing visions of directors in different eras. Freddy interacted with the crowd, answered a few questions about his career and cracked a few jokes too. Games were conducted and Freddy, along with the audience, chanted GO FRAMES.
A CSR initiative was also conducted in November in Nere High School, Panvel where underprivileged kids were shown films, made to do activities like lantern making and games were played with them. They were shown animated movies in order to inculcate interest towards movies and helped them learn something about the art of filmmaking. The day ended on a very memorable note for both the children and the volunteers.
This Film Festival will be held on the 10th, 11th and 12th of January, 2019.
